The Brand Story
Oribe Hair Care was founded by renowned editorial and celebrity hairstylist Oribe and beauty industry veterans Daniel Kaner and Tev Finger with the goal of creating a new kind of hair company, one that was designed with the most talented salon professionals and the most discriminating customers in mind. When developing the line, we didn’t want to compromise on any detail. We leveraged skin care technology and natural actives to deliver high-performance, treatment-based products—all while never forgetting that healthy hair is the underpinning for sexy, glamorous styling. Each product has been tested at length on set, backstage and in the salon to ensure that it delivers results, leaving us with a best-in-class collection that truly meets the needs of the hair-obsessed.
Oribe’s signature scent, Cote d’Azur, runs through the line at the lightest levels, designed so that the products in each individual’s hair ritual work together…and build upon each other. Developed in collaboration with one of the oldest French fragrance houses, tracing its roots back to the 1800s, Cote d’Azur was conceived to be beautiful and bright yet calming and composed—the perfect morning wake-up call, afternoon pick-me-up and evening mood-setter. The signature scent awakens with hints of citrus-soaked Italian bergamot, pink lemons, white peach, cassis and muguet, balanced with Aomori apples and leafy greens. Cedarwood, white amber and musk lend their soft woody notes, while Cuba’s national flower, la mariposa blanca, creates a sensual and invigorating experience throughout the day.

Iredale Mineral Makeup was founded by Jane Iredale in 1994. The makeup line has become increasingly popular over the past decade. Today, Jane Iredale's Skin Care Makeup is considered one of the world's premier makeup lines. During the development of her product line Jane drew upon her extensive background in makeup artistry for film, theatre and television.
The goals of Iredale Mineral Makeup have been essentially twofold. First, create a makeup with a superior look and feel - makeup for the HDTV age, if you will. Second, create a makeup that is actually beneficial to the skin. The popularity of Iredale's line indicates the great degree of success Ms. Iredale has had in meeting these two goals. The products have wide popular acclaim and are increasingly popular with dermatologists and skin care clinicians.
Product packaging has received enormous attention in the Iredale lineup. All of the materials have been tastefully chosen and blended into a cohesive group with a very high end look. Gold finishes have a central thematic role in the line and are complemented by sophisticated black accents.
Iredale's product line is extensive and consists not only of her amazing bases but also of a full facial makeup line complete with lash and lip products and brushes and sponges. Iredale conceives of her mineral products as promoting 'Beauty with Benefits.' As such, the line is non-comedogenic, anti-inflammatory and offers broad spectrum hypoallergenic UVB (SPF 20) and UVA protection. The makeup is very water resistant and its mineral composition does not support bacteria.
Her state of the art micronized mineral bases serve as foundation, powder, concealer and sunscreen all in one easy application that resists fading, creasing and smearing. The minerals are concentrated. This allows for complete coverage and easy camouflage of large or small distractions without a heavy buildup of product. The bases adhere to the skin until they are removed with any cleanser. All of the ingredients and processes involved in the manufacture of the Iredale line are of the highest quality available.

My top three picks for unique creativity from Iredale Mineral Cosmetics are CircleDelete, 24 Karat Gold Dust and D2O Heavy Water. Circle Delete is an eye treatment as well as a concealer for dark circles. It contains skin conditioners, vitamins and antioxidants for therapeutic effects and minerals for immediate results. 24 karat gold dust is 48% 24 karat food-grade gold. The key feature of this product is that it shimmers rather than glitters on the skin. It can be brushed on eyes, cheeks and lips or applied to the hair with gel. The gold dust even adds to a great look on less exposed parts of the body. D20 is short for Deuterium Oxide or heavy water. The heavy water compound in this product has an extra hydrogen molecule that makes it 10% heavier than H2O. It tends to remain on the skin longer helping to hydrate and plump the cells. A spritz of D2O is great as a last step in the application of Iredale's makeup.
